Inside the outhouses

It was a wet winter’s day the first time we set eyes on the property that was to become the Camel Sheds. A friend of ours, Tila had heard that an old property was on the market in the centre of Haría. He asked us if we’d like to take a look out of interest, we were living in Punta Mujeres at the time, in a small community of duplexes. Jenny and Norman were in Lanzarote, so along with the kids we met Tila to have a nosey around.

The house was completely overgrown, situated on a plot of 4,500m² nature had started to reclaim the land. There was the main house with a courtyard and tower, plus some outbuildings. Whilst we loved living by the sea, I really missed having a garden and some personal space. My mum, Jenny was excited about the prospect of a project, something they could work on during their time in Lanzarote, and it was big enough for us to split into two houses.
