I’ve included some photos of the house before we started work, we had to look back for photographic evidence to supply to Patrimonio for their meeting re Mum and Norm’s roof and it was nice to see the progress we had made. Mum and Norman managed to get two statements to help our plea with the house, Don Domingo and his wife were upset by the trouble we were having and they can remember that the roof was replaced just before they got married, at that time the family didn’t have the funds to replace the pitched roof so a flat one was put on. They have been very supportive of us restoring the house back to original condition and wanted to help where they could. The other statement was from the historian at the Ayuntamiento, unfortunately they don’t have any photos of the property but could re-iterate that it had a pitched roof. We were not allowed to attend the meeting for the decision on the roof, it doesn’t seem fair that a group of people who haven’t even seen the property will decide the outcome and we have to accept it. The meeting has been held, we were told on the morning before that we had a 98% chance it would be ok to continue which is a complete change from the definite that the roof had to be scrapped and replaced with a flat one, but we’ve not been officially notified of the result as yet.
