Its Easter weekend, and the stone masons have nearly finished their work on the first section with Jenny and Norm.  This means that we have to start in earnest clearing the area they are to start work in.  During the week the door into the street from the temporary lounge area was cut down to a window and the bottom filled in to create a window seat, Norm managed to drop the door on his shin and has a lovely big bump and bruise.

Having talked to Geronimo he wants to start from the adjoining wall from Jenny’s lounge to the camel sheds and work down.  Hopefully we can gain a little height if we work this way down and the ground does slope away.  We are working directly under the bird’s nest but are pleased to see the parents swooping around and keeping a watchful eye on us, we can hear the young but not seen any of them as yet.  We toiled for the day simply clearing a mixture of cement and earth from the floor area, Mike calculated we had moved more than a tonne that day!  We had a system where we loosened the earth and shovelled it into the wheelbarrow and Josh moved it to one of the many recycling dumps that have developed.  We didn’t finish what we needed to do and will have to try to fit some more time in again this week as well as buying our own tools and generator so that we don’t stop Jenny and Norm working on their area.
