Our house name arrived! I had organised a sign ‘Las Cabañas de Camellos’ but there was a translation error and we ended up with ‘Las Cabañas de Camelos’ which means a smelly bait house! Luckily the sign ended with pictures of camels so we cut out the word camelos and left the pictures to complete the name. The coffee machine arrived from the kitchen company, the original one had a broken glass front so we had to wait for the replacement. Work at Mum and Norm’s house swapped from the lounge to the kitchen area, the old oven was taken down and the wall repaired, this had separated from the roof so was in urgent need of repair. We hadn’t built our utility room yet so a makeshift washing machine house was made and our clothes line is in the courtyard of the old house. We had a really nice surprise in that Grandma Isherwood’s estate had been settled and Mum gave us three grandchildren an amount of money that she wanted us to have from Grandma, we decided to use this to splash out and buy a new reclining leather sofa suite so that for the first time since moving to Lanzarote we would have a comfortable lounge that all 4 of us could sit down in.
