The back wall has finally been picked and rendered! Because we don’t see it this part of the house was left to last. Mum’s first replacement new window was installed at the back of the house. We can finally spend some time in the garden, the chippings are really sharp and you can’t walk in bare feet so we dug in some spare wood beam stepping logs so you can get from the back door to the aljibe patio without shoes.
We finally got the call that our paperwork was ready and I could collect the certificate for our electric, we had lived with weeks of running the generator for a few hours a day for electric, we could only have a couple of items running at the same time, especially if the boiler was heating the water, or someone was in the shower or we were cooking. We lost count of the amount of times we had to run up to the other house to top the fuel up or trip the breaker. Even Lucy could come home from school and pull start the generator so she could make her lunch. It was like Christmas when Unelco came and connected us up, it took a few days to realise that we all didn’t have to go to bed at nine o’clock as the generator was noisy and it was now dark.
